Would you like to Increase your ranking on Google and other search engines? Are you finding it hard to come across your site when searching for relevant topics? These quick tips can help you boost your page rank and get your site recognized by search engines.
SEO Tips:
1. Create links to your site on any Forums, Blogs or Community Sites that you are a member of. The more valid links back to your site, the better off you'll be. Don't just spam your link everywhere though, as that can hurt your ranking.
2. Know how to create your links properly. If you link to your site from another site, don't just make the link http://www.your-website.com/ or your company name, have the link say something relative to your company, like Professional Plumbers.
3. If you do make the link your Company Name, provide it with a Title tag and put a couple of key words in there (You will know if a Title Tag is present if you hover over the link). If you link Key Words, put your Company Name in the title tag (as I did in Tip # 2)
4. If you are linking an image to your site, use an Alt Tag and a Title Tag, as if you just link the image without these elements, you get virtually no increase in page rank from it.
5. Setup Social Share links on your website. If your users can easily grab content from your site and link it to their Facebook, MySpace, and other social accounts, it will benefit your business by harnessing the power of popular social networks.
6. If you have videos on your site, consider using YouTube or other popular services to host your videos. Not only can YouTube handle the videos without effort, but the YouTube page provides another area to create a link back to your site, as well as the ability to have your video(s) appear directly in search engines (like video.google.com).
7. Lastly, Consider a Re-Design. If your site is a few years old, you might need to consider having it redesigned. Older layouts are often not Search Engine Optimized. If your site is redesigned properly with proper content structure, this can also enhance the way search engines index your site.
